MULTIPLE (8 TIMES IN SUCCESSION) HALTER FUTURITY CHAMPION ~ MULTIPLE STATE CHAMPION, AQHA AND PHAA

The GRAND SOUTHERN - MYTEE OBVIOUS TEE - MEMORIAL -SUPREME ALL BREEDS HALTER CHAMPION  THE AUSTRALIAN CONGRESS.

KISS ME ALL OVER  ~ BRED BY CORONATION PARK STUD now owned by SHARON WINTER swept all before her in her Cinderella slippers and took NATIONAL and STATE CHAMPION titles AND MAJOR halter futurity CHAMPION wins (I believe there were 8 straight futurity championships)

Sharon, who has shown horses for many years, came to me wanting a great filly to show and have fun with and to be her best friend, A competitive halter horse to campaign and ride later. Kissed, is from our gorgeous COOSA (USA) mare KISSA ME COOSA ME, who certainly imparted her beauty, balance and presence to this princess! My words to Sharon, is one of my BEST HALTER FILLIES, she will ride and when you’re finished showing her, be an amazing brood mare for you. Kissed is the first foal to show from this lovely Coosa mare who was leased and unshown due to damage caused by the lessee's, Kisses then had to prove her worth and earn her a right to stay in the CP brood mare band~ the result ~ KISS ME ALL OVER with just over 6 months of showing was the AQHA 2009 HIGH POINT HALTER MARE OF AUSTRALIA, as well as the 2009 AQHA PERPETUAL TROPHY WINNER for the OVERALL HIGH POINT HALTER HORSE OF THE NATION ~ quite an achievement for a yearling filly with so little showing. We wait patiently for you start her under saddle ~ CORONATION PARK horses are bred to be versatile, their form to function is second to none, sound, kind and willing partners for Amateurs and professionals alike.

LIBERATION ~ A VERY BIG CONGRATULATIONS

LIBERATION ~ BRED BY CORONATION PARK STUD - had an enormous show run in 2009 with the very talented Holly Johnson riding her in all her events. Lib was sold to these clients as my best hunter futurity prospect, she certainly proved that and more. This filly's female family has produced many previous NPHA CHAMPIONS at halter, western pleasure and Hunter, as well as AQHA CHAMPIONS and AQHA NATIONAL and PHAA CHAMPIONS at halter, western pleasure trail, and hunter. Her dam Kulgoa Liberty Trail is one of two colonial bred mares at C.P. The other is her own daughter that has produced AQHA trail champions. We also owned the grand dam Hunchette who was an amazing AQHA National champion producer. Liberty Trail is one of our favorite mares! Her babies do it all, having produced great rodeo event horses also. Talk about versatile!

In 2009 LIBERATION was crowned: ~ PHAA NATIONAL CHAMPION 2YO HUNTER UNDER SADDLE  ~  2yo PHAA  FUTURITY NATIONAL CHAMPION HUNTER UNDER SADDLE.

Coronation Park has been a buzz with excitement this year with the lovely uniform crop of foals by CP CLASSIC SENSATION ~ Sold at the completion of the 08 season to a very excited Melinda Roffey.  Everyone who has seen these babies is amazed at their quality, size and natural muscle mass. Please take a moment to see for yourself on our foals page and stay posted for next weekend as we hope to get some time to update the photos of these kids for our sale pages.

All foals at Coronation Park are always for sale and can be purchased on a payment plan. We don't charge interest on payment plans unless a payment is missed, if this happens, the result is you are then charged bank interest. Not many people have had this happen and we are proud of our sincere customers prompt payments. Occasionally we have had to repossess horses, this is unfortunate but we too have to make a living and understand that some people bite off more than they can chew and may have to return horses to us at our request. We attempt to do all we can to avoid this and try our best to help people to overcome the situation. We understand they come to love these horses, unfortunately, sometimes it is necessary to implement proceedings.  For this reason every horse purchased from C.P. will need to be signed to a contract. Please ask as we are happy to send you the contract to mull over prior to purchase.

~ UWANTAPIECEOFME ~  WORLD CHAMPION AND AQHA NATIONAL CHAMPION ~

HANDSOMELAGOON414.jpg HANDSOMELAGOON277.jpg

December brings with it the close of our breeding season. UWANTAPIECEOFME (Aka Handsome) finished the season with positive pregnancies in an incredible book of mares! He achieved a remarkable high conception rate over 40 mares bred and at writing we are expecting 38 foals with one mare holding service (we will know her result in the next week and hope to make that 39 out of 40! ) foals due in 2010. Quite an incredible achievement on such a young (2yo) horse with shipped cooled semen.  We are proud of the Tribulation record on halter and Performance horses and this young colt hails from the same female tap root family if you choose to take a peek. Handsome has an even deeper depth of breeding pulling on Noble Tradition (Impressive) following up with bloodlines to encourage the strongest pedigree critic to breed. Handsome has lots of PRETTY and his strong working lines in his mare lineage. You simply must see this horse move to appreciate him! I promise You will never have seen a bigger lengthier extension to the trot in a QH than this horse can show you! Ask one of the best Judges and sound critics in working horses SAM DALEY and her sister LEESA how this horse moves! Another good judge and critic that was gob smacked by his movement was Melanie Kirk who rode beside him watching in amazement at this length of stride. He has such a reach that takes your breath away. His sweet disposition is another great asset. Peter is about to commence riding him again and tells me he intends using him as his lead horse for our weanlings this year. Spook Neville loves the movement also and intends breeding Sydney to him next season. She produced a great colt to Sensation this year that will represent us in the rodeo world but foaled a little late to rebreed this year. So you guessed it. We can’t wait for 2010 foals to arrive. Everyone wants these beautiful head and necks that this horse promises to give.

Oh......... And he has BIG SOUND FEET! AND GOOD BONE.

Handsome was named well! A beautiful intelligent head with sharp little ears set on the most amazing rein! His muscle cuts deep on his back line, his shoulders are long and strong, great legs, and he has good long pasterns with correct angulation. Again I say you simply must see this horse in the flesh to appreciate him. He is an athlete. Standing 16 hands, weighing in at 600K at 2yo and YES, still growing.  He is broken in. Peter was enjoying using him prior to the breeding season. We are THRILLED with this horse, his size, structure and temperament. Thank you Kathy Snodgrass for finding him and Karen Sartain for ALLOWING is to purchase him. Coronation Park is looking forward to some golden horses grazing our green pastures by Handsome in 2010.

TOUCHED

Touched81a.jpgTouched145.jpg

This week (1st week December) we started our lovely Touchdown Kid yearling colt  from A Designer Original. He had only been in the barn 3 weeks when we took these photos on Sunday. Touched is the nicest natured colt I've ever had the pleasure of preparing for show. (I've had hundreds over the years!) He is the sweetest natured and easiest boy to train, always wanting to please. He has not had any prep prior. Now 14 months old. His Sister, TOUCHE was the weanling filly from the same crop, (E.T.) she won the prestigious NPHA $5000 weanling futurity. She is now in the pasture growing and is being left there till she is a very long yearling maybe even 2yo before we bring her back out as she is so growthy. We expect this gorgeous girl will make over 16h.h. So we will let her tell us when she is ready to come show again, in the mean time its brother TOUCHED turn.

At this first outing TOUCHED won his under 2 years QH colt class, was champion QH stallion and over our very good gelding who has been tough all year in the grand CH QH,  beat him and the mare for GRAND CHAMPION QH. TOUCHED then went on to be awarded the SUPREME CHAMPION ALL BREEDS HALTER HORSE OF THE SHOW. The quality was good in the quarter classes with horses that have been many times national and state champion in through both QH and Paint breeds. Go TOUCHED you rock!!

We are setting TOUCHED for the HALTER SHOWCASE in Victoria in the New Year and are looking forward to accessing his progress and reporting to our good friends at Falcon Ranch. He is very modern and we are of course hoping for a judge looking for this lovely new modern look!

REVELATION PROVES THAT HE IS TRUELY ONE OF OUR GREAT ALL ROUND CONTENDERS...

revelation951.jpg

REVELATION  SUPREME CHAMPION HALTER HORSE AT THE NEW ZEALAND NATIONAL QUARTER HORSE SHOW,AND NOW RIDDEN WESTERN PLEASURE FUTURITY CHAMPION AT HIS FIRST OUTING WINNING MARK AND VAL A BEAUTIFUL SILVER SADDLE!

A huge Congratulations to Val and Mark Chamberlain of Olena Stud In New Zealand.

Rev as a foal was shown to some pretty prominent horse folk that came to visit/ purchase foals. He was passed up early in preference to other colts!  (bet these folk are biting their lower lip now! )This boy was a much later foal and a wee bit backwards to some of the others! He was actually Peter's most favorite foal of that crop, and we stated that one the web site at the time. Rev (now known as Aslan)  was the last foal born. Oh, and the other colts had gone out, shown and won national titles for us! S'pose that helped sell them on. Rev stayed on a lot longer being passed up a few more times. The dreaded E.I hit just after Mark purchased him and we were in a quandry about what to do with a YOUNG STUD colt with the breeding season upon us. I arranged to have Rev sent to my dear friend Bev Chapman’s stud to see the season out as she did not have a stallion that year. Rev would not be bothered by the breeding regime that he certainly would have been subjected to here. In that E.I year when Mark came to purchase this colt I told him that Revelation was a great colt, and that I was so happy he was in the right hands. I loved everything about him, especially as he was from one of our greatest mares, I'm Everyone’s Envy. Envy had an outstanding pedigree of world champions, was a top show mare herself, but the thing that drew me to her over some of the others was her movement (that's the T/B girl in me ) A big 16.2 and all power, this mare was soft, easy going and very light on her feet! (Mark tells me Rev is the same) I’d not seen many mares that could cover so much ground, so effortlessly and so softly. Mark purchased Rev as a gelding, initially, we had not cut him at that point in time as he needed to catch up and mature, Mark asked if he could take him to NZ as a colt to show him. It was agreed  upon with Mark when Rev left here as a colt, if he was going to MAKE IT, we could negotiate his stallion status when the time came to breed him, THEN pay the difference between gelding and stallion price, BUT .......  That would be assessed after Mark broke him in and had time to assess his ability, if he thought he would be as good a horse as we all believed and he could pay tribute to his breeding AND EARN THE PLACE AS A STUD HORSE, then AND ONLY THEN he could be used as a sire!!! IF NOT ......"GELDED"............ lots of AND hey?

WELL ...........I'm pleased to say Rev has PROVEN BEYOND DOUBT that he deserves to be a stud. Evie would be proud of her great son. Sadly this great mare hemorhaged giving birth to her first foal....... (REVELATION WAS AN EMBRYO TRANSFER FOAL.)  .......... We move on to see this horse cover this first mares in 2009 after the show season, late, all be it, this year.....we believe he is going to prove he is not just a pretty face! This lovely 2yo colt had a fabulous start to his show life in the land of the long white cloud!! UNDEFEATED stallion and grand champion at every outing at halter and now True to CORONATION PARK form with his ridden career clearly cemented,

We look forward to seeing Rev continue his education and we don’t believe it’s beyond him to come to OZ and compete and win at NPHA one day

Ima Dandy Fella

Mark and Val are equally excited about the new colt purchased from Coronation Park Stud In partnership with Katie Tasker the Mr Yella Fella weanling CP IMA DANDY FELLA has been purchased to chase REVELATION down the road! HARLEY is at home with Katie growing out and looking magnificent  His pedigree contains the greats, Mr Yella Fella of course but his momma is a full sister to one of the greatest ever mares in America Ms Entitlement. Congrats Mark and this pretty moving young stud colt with also DO IT ALL for you. We look forward to hearing of your progress.

Elizabeth Pride a great client over many years who also hails from the land of the Long white cloud reports that the love of her life our past famous JUST SHAMELESS has settled in wonderfully in his new home. Elizabeth’s World Champion mare (also purchased from us) Bring On The Roses, has a great PALOMINO colt at foot and is tested in foal to UWANTAPIECEOFME. This year Elizabeth plans on taking her two mares home. She left Roses and Attribute to Design here to take advantage of the new bloodlines to import into NZ of this fine young WORLD CHAMPION stallion. Elizabeth certainly has the bloodlines and broodmare power now in New Zealand to Bulster up the breeding in her country and achieve there what we have been able to do for Australia with these great horses. Between Crown Park stud and Olena, they will have all the bases covered. I need to do a list of all the horses we have imported over the years just for interest and point out where they are NOW. I note most of them are in very prominent breeding establishments. Again we are thrilled to be seen as importers of these great mares, stallions- bloodlines

JCG BLONDE BOMBER (IMP)

porsche8385.jpg

Congratulation to Keren and her beautiful mare Porsche on a great year of showing. These golden girls (Keren and Porsche) Launched into the big time at the Hunter Valley futurity show against many past multi national champions. Keren had only just applied for her amateur owner status that week! Their first year of showing was fun, they won many SUPREME CHAMPION OF THE SHOW AWARDS. Keren was ecstatic winning her very own buckle at her first show! Well done darling and KEREN PREPPED AND SHOWED HER horse herself! No trainer, just Keren. CONGRATULATIONS MATE. We are so proud of Keren in her first year of showing and look forward to see she and Rex take home further spoils in the years to come in the amateur and open classes with some lovely horses that they share.

Porsche being an imported mare with high broodmare value could only show this year before being bred, she needs to return the stud some of her expensive purchase price! Porsche in America was an AMQHA ROM and SUPERIOR HALTER HORSE!  Keren achieved her Aussie ROM in limited showing 6 months. She adores the mare and this is reflected in how this mare shows for her. They recorded 15 champions in consecutive mare classes at AA and agricultural shows in both AQ and Palomino classes. Keren anxiously waits Porsche' first foal BY UWANTAPICECEOFME. No doubt if she produces a filly she will want to keep and show it! We'll see! A VERY BIG CONGRATS GOLDEN GIRLS!!

CP LEGAL TENDER (IMP)

legaltender688.jpgrexnlegaltenderallendale.jpg

Joey is now a gelding and owned by Rex and Keren, though Rex will be his usual handler at shows unless work commitments get in the way(and only then) will Rex allow his sweet heart to show his pride and joy Joey. The BOYS had a nice start to their show career in 2009, Many of you will have seen Rex with me at shows as my # 1 strapper and helper!! Rex and Joey we foresee Rex and Joey taking many GRAND CHAMPIONS and SUPREME GRAND champion awards in the future. This horse too, missed his early career showing as E.I affected what happened, he was left out in the fields to grow and certainly benefited from this. We were so pleased to see Rex take Joey on. Joey was turned to pasture for 4 moths over winter. Bought back a little prematurely in September as our local western shows struggled to survive (again, E.I. Caused many people to sell their horses and lots have not returned to showing) e a lot of members made an effort to come along to this show , the alternative would be the shows failure and probable never return. Rex and Keren dragged Joey from the field for the September show (he was woolly, lean and surprised they caught him!!!) washed and clipped his 3 inch bridle path! Then we threw Rex in the deep end with a stallion to show unprepared in his first ever class!!! Go Rex your a Goer. NO Lessons and first time out!!! Tee heee. Joey was a good boy considering all and showed lovely for him. The judge, who loved the horse in all her previous sightings of him was a bit ? On him. (Giggle). well he did look ? Paddocked or was it bushed? oops. Yep I'm rolling on the floor laughing, Rex will kill me having made that comment!!! Never the less be placed well , Delegation - 9 times NATIONAL AND STATE CHAMPION -( ALSO A CORONATION PARK BRED HORSE)  stood in front of him for the first time ever in the OPEN jack pot. In fact I don't think Joey had ever been beaten in OPEN JACKPOT! (boy, he looked wintry) Good on Rex for supporting a failing club and everyone else that did the same. Of course DELEGATION owned and prepped by Karin Gelderman, always looks immaculate and was turned out to perfection. Karin will be tough in the Amateur classes with this amazing CP bred horse.

In the barn for 3 weeks ,Rex came out again with Joey, this time on the rise and looking more like his " old Self"  BUT( tee heee) this time two weeks gelded!!! ........ Still a little sore between the hind legs missing his BITS!! (so, are you rolling on the floor at the explanation Rex) He was 3rd in the open halter with CORONATION PARK BRED HORSES in front of him.....He showed to 2nd behind Delegation again with a nervous Rex after his very first lesson on how to show  (5 minutes inclusive)  They did good. Same results in the AM and Open. Rex was a little (lot) nervous and was kinda going..... Awaaaaa I cost him that class and the open didn't I? YES! So we then got organised and had a few lessons at the after math of the show and at home. Talk about quick learners!!! Next day Rex turned it all around. Beaten again by Coronation Park horses into 3rd spot. He took me a side and asked if I’d show his horse..... I said........NO, he’s yours now. PICK YOUR ACT UP! Another quick lesson on where, and how to stand, then back in the ring for the open gelding. This time the 1st ribbon!!! Yee haaaa. The Delegation stood against his arch rival for champion and REX AND JOEY got the nod!!!

As proud as we were with what Del has achieved for Karin we are more proud of Rex who stepped up to the mark with all the trimming of a true professional.

Delegation

Keren took the lead this weekend past as her man had to work. She was now nervous about showing his horse! (here we go again.) First place in the open all breeds gelding class, with the competition standing in the wings watching not entering! first in his age class, (a little bit? NO ~ A LOT ~  naughty). Better next go round for  CHAMPION GELDING (DELEGATION this time stood next to reserve) . Keren then had to have a quick lesson as I told her that I loved the buckskin reserve champion gelding and that she better pick her act up to keep in front of this lovely horse in future. The lesson worked wonders and Joey worked to his old form and WON the Am for her. I'm sure that Keren and Rex will have lots of fun with this horse whilst they both learn the ropes. Not bad for two new people to the western rings in 2009. Big plans lay ahead for 2010 for these three. Good Luck guys and thanks for your loyalty.

News on some of our thoroughbreds

For those of you that follow our favorite T/B broodmares Shingle Moss and Shand, we have a beautiful colt by the top sire COMMANDS from SHINGLE MOSS, he is headed to the prestigeous WILLIAM INGLIS SELECT EASTER YEARLING SALE. This is a nicer colt than last years colt and what a pedigree! Shingle has produced 8 winners Inc a European Champion that has won over 2 million $. Also three Australian group winners for us and all her other winners. Ill take some photos of the GENERAL (as we call him) when he is in prep for his sale campaign and no doubt we will have the WONDERFUL MEL CRUDEN from Crazy horse Photography come take some professional shots for his Inglis sale promo.

SHAND was late foaling the previous year so we decided to leave her empty. She has a massive LONHRO FILLY at foot this year a full sister to the very fast in fact, scintillating filly that John Hawkes trained for the fabulous Ingham Brothers Woodlands enterprises in, SYCAPHANT. We love this big strong "typical Shand" filly, maybe enough to keep her ourselves! (We don't keep many to race) LEHONI, as we have named her is gorgeous and can this thing fly!!! I’ve a friend in with her, QH filly that stands and waits for her now as she realizes that the speed and stamina is just too much for a QH girl. They are so funny to watch playing. SHAND has returned back in foal to LONHRO!!! How exciting. Shands Commands 2yo colt has from all accounts, broken in wonderfully and is promising the Begg stables big things. We are thrilled Neville bought this guy for his great Hong Kong clients

BIRDS AND BEEZ retired and joined the broodmare band this year. I don't want to bore you with all our T/B mares but this mare is worth noting. She won 4 and holds 4 track records, I love her, another very fast mare with a brilliant pedigree. I love this mares nature and her SPEED! She too is bred to LONHRO. Will surely produce a remarkable type. So remember her name and I’ll post pics of her baby when it comes along. (this ones for you my friend ~ raspberry bullets)

DELEGATION

Yet another big congratulations is in order to Karinne Gelderman  with 8 national champion titles ( see above also under CP LEGAL TENDER) We love that Del is  flying the flag for Coronation Park so consistently racking up points for his devoted owner and  sensational mother A DESIGNER ORIGINAL .Now riding, Kat  informs us that this horse is destined for a show jumping career, She was telling us she had a lesson with AUSTRALIAN TOP SHOW JUMP RIDER and good friend of  my  Peter, VICKI ROYCROFT. Peter is sure to speak to Vicki and get the ducks guts on this horse. Del, standing 16.o as a 3yo, is looking like the athlete. If he can Jump it won’t be a surprise to us at all. His mother’s full sister A DESIGNER COPY, was a JUMPER! Damn her. She used to clean scale every fence and gate on Coronation Park as a 3yo. One day in the rain and out of a muddy corner she misjudged, slipped attempting a high gate (that she scaled on numerous occasions previously!) and landed on the top, over the gate. We had to remove the gate off its hinges to get her off it. Sadly she did much damage to her stifles and we could not breed from her for a few years, she is the dam of this years favorite filly ~ Sienna Sensation, a big, pretty, leggy correct and VERY MODERN FILLY. She is also the dam of the Statutory, Coronation Park bred, Multi NATIONAL CHAMPION horse owned by WILKINSON FARM "STATEMENT”. Marea had STATEMENT broken in and he looked lovely under saddle with her riding him. Ill see if I can find that photo of him? He is her “Standing Stallion” at the farm and sadly, was not campaigned under saddle. BET HE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN AMAZING RIDDEN HORSE!!  And BET he would jump too. He is a very strong and correct horse that is also getting lovely babies for the WF.

INQUISTION

inquisition.jpg

Has gone to his new owners, Caroline and Wayne Logan of Logan Lodge on the Gold Coast. Caroline’s dream of owning a top quality stallion for covering her coloured mares was shattered this year when her beautiful Tri This Verse did not develop normally in his STALLION bits, Sadly Caroline informed me that her beloved ' TRI" would have to be gelded. Loving the CORONATION PARK bred natures and all round ability she now is the proud owner of INQUISITION.  By Statutory from our great WIESCAMP IMP bred mare SKIPS LACEARITA this gorgeous chocolate chestnut colt is sure to be her foundation sire PAR EXCELLENCE. Wayne and Caroline had a fun stay at Coronation Park, amazed at the quality of the mares they were shown and the excellent care taken on all our horses they were shown, They loved UWANTAPIECEOFME and are thrilled with their beautiful boy INQUISITION, they now own, they have their dream back BUT WITH greater heights that they intend to achieve. Skips Lacearita is the dam of Di White's pretty palomino mare TWENTY FOUR CARAT TRIBUTE now bred to Burkes Statutory horse for a 7/8th brother to INQUISTION. Hollywood, as she is known won many titles and was futurity placed for Di. Second foal from this mare is SYERRA LACED sold as a weanling, Futurity place at her only outing and promising in the CJ training stables to be a great western pleasure mount, from all accounts Syerra broke in as their best NPHA prospect and the SHHHH don’t tell anyone was on! This lovely filly is headed to the NPHA with great anticipation ~ Oh Dear ~ just heard from very reliable sources, a report that Syerra is OUT of action at the moment) We hope that this filly is soon, back on track, as she was reported to be BETTER THAN Liberation!! THESE WIESCAMP MARES are some of the best mares in America! Sam Daley told me she is saving up for our expecting 2010 Foal from this mare by HF SOMETHIN HOT! ..... Keep savin Sam its earmarked for YOU! I could not think of a better person to own this coming foal. That sale would make so SOPROUD.  We would know that this foal would have THE VERY BEST OF HOMES and get every chance to prove to be a champion!

TOUCHOFAPLAYGIRL. A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO KATHY AND TODD SNODGRASS AND DON AND BERTA FALCON.

kitty597.jpg

Don and Berta Falcon have long been admired. Breeders of great horses at Halter and all round through many years. We had Booked I'm Everyones Envy to TOUCHDOWN KID the year he died. We were devistated but pleased that RT Curtain call had conceived for us at that time Coronation Park Stud owned that mare. Envy came to Australia bred to his son Mr Touchdown Kid. She unfortunately slipped that foal in Quarantine (come to think of it, I had also bred Skips Lacrearita to Mr Touchdown Kid and she slipped twin foals at 8 months!)  My dearest friend in the world, Kathy Snodgrass, is great mates with Don and Berta as well, Todd Snodgrass (Kathy’s Husband) designed and manages the FALCON RANCH web site through his www.doublesdesigns Kathy told me of a beautiful PALOMINO filly by one of my favourite USA sires, Playgirls Conclusion and from one of Falcon Ranches best families. This filly was not available for sale at the time, though Kathy and Don were working on Kathy maybe buying her. Thanks to Kathy, it was arranged for us to contact Don about this lovely young mare and arrange the purchase. As much as my dear friend wanted this mare, she was happy to allow me to purchase her. Kitty arrived from Quarantine end November and is settling in well to her new surroundings. She is quarantined here as she is in foal to the great sire KID COOLSIFIED to foal 2010. Kitty will be bred to UWANTAPIECEOFME in 2010.

THE CAICOS KID

paxtonallendale.jpg
Pictured at 18 months

This year will see us get serious with our imported CK KID colt from Playgirls Treasure. Paxton has been out to show twice now and handled himself beautifully. He likes to show. We started him underdone at two smaller shows so he gets the idea of what this is all about with out being colty. He is greying out ROSE grey, the most beautiful colour now his dapples are appearing. He has a gorgeous modern look about him with a lot of leg under him, he is starting to furnish up and shows great muscle and definition. He is the only CK Kid colt in Australia. CK Kid is souring up the USA leader board and is sure to get higher and higher for Terry Bradshaw with Ted Turner involved too!~ Go CK Kid YOU GOOD THING. Paxton will amaze you with his movement. He has the best of WORLD CHAMPION breeding both sides coupled with the incredible SKIPPER STAR to leave you that all round horse. Look for him at a show near you in 2010.

SALES: Shortly I will update our ”for sales” pages with some mares and all the foals. We have some working bred mares in the states that we intend to bring home shortly and to finance these I am selling some wonderful imported mares that normally we would not sell. Importing is so expensive now-a-days!

As an interesting note, recently we were invited to submit some mares for fetal scans for sexing. This was presented to some t/b people by one of the world’s best and most renowned sex testing vets who specialises in the TB world at this scientific art. You will be amazed to learn that in America in the thoroughbred world these people make an excellent living out of sex testing foals in mares. They work like this ~ 1% of the stallions breeding fee is charged for the testing. (i.e. $200K breeding fees for the breeding  = 20K ~ yes your reading right!!) they guarantee the sex for the foals. The Tb mares are sold at auction with the written guarantee of the unborn foal being what is predicted. If this foal is not what it is said to be, the vets pay the owner the total breeding fee of the stallion ~ yes 200K. BIG GAMBLE by these vets??? NO.... These are the experts and have paid out their insurance only once in the past 6 years. They travel the world scanning and testing thoroughbred mares mostly owned by the leading T/B studs of the world  also for individual owners on mares they are considering selling at the major Tb sales in Lexington USA and Goff’s in England / Ireland. !!! Foals are guaranteed. I was privy to this viewing of the whole procedures of sex testing at 70 days post cover. Very interesting indeed. So because 3 of our mares were used we are aware of three of our foals coming in 2010. One we will offer for sale is indeed carrying a filly, she is my lovely 4yo - half sister to our world champion The Obvious Heir. Joyous ~ aka: A JOY TO BEHOLD by STATUTORY from CONGRESS CHAMPION ~ JOY CAROL.  You will be able to see updated pics of Joyous in the next few days. I find this science a wonderful addition to our program. We had intended to sell our Good TB mare Shand Last year until we had her sex scanned at the first symposium. When we learned she was carrying a LONHRO filly we with drew her from sale. YEP we got our filly and the ones from the other two mares submitted Kissa Me Coosa Me and Cooshier were reported by this team as fillies also. Food for thought!! You bet. I’m  planning on submitting 3 mares each year to this vet day.

JoyousNov09208.jpg

Whilst our Aussie vets are learning the trade I'm sure we will have some mistakes made, so we'll wait till they get better at it over some years with experience, in the mean time I'm happy to have the experts use my mares to show WHATS WHAT!!

News from around the farm:

It’s been a dry year with drought hovering over the eastern states inland from the ranges. We are fortunate to be blessed with great country that gets every drop of rain. Our horses had green grass all year but we have lacked the growth that is usually up under the foals bellies this time of the year. We can’t see them when they sleep in the pastures as the clovers cover their bodies when they lay. I thank the Lord that we have had what rain was about and the mare’s milk production has been great. The foals are growing out wonderfully with out the need of any grain, they do have their supplemented mineral blocks. We pray that Summer having started isn’t going to be too dry. February usually brings The Hunter Valley rain so we wait. I’ve filled the barn with large bales of hay to be sure we won’t have any problems over winter with supply.

We sold off a lot of cattle as it got drier. We have only two bulls from the last crops here now growing out. A 2yo Charolais that we will use later this year he is running with his brother not quite a year old at this time.

The fowl are sitting on eggs (much to Peters disgust!) he likes to eat eggs not watch chickens hatch! We should have 20 chickens out soon. Roxie has to be watched carefully as she likes to eat them when they are babies! NAUGHTY ROXIE. I love the chickens and the doves. UPDATE ~ FIRST CHICKEN IS OUT TONIGHT!!

We started the garden this year! It’s coming along nicely considering how dry its been. Peter bought me a lovely fountain that we love to sit and watch flow over. Ill take some pics of that this afternoon and the start of the garden to show you even though it’s so dry. We are no where near finished but I'm so proud of our efforts so far. Peter, Rex Keren Sam and Bron have all lent a hand in its start.

In closing, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL: May you have all your family with you, be happy, healthy and enjoy each other over our festive season. Not forgetting what Christmas is REALLY ABOUT. I love attending our local church on Christmas day Mulbring has a wonderful strong family and community spirit.

God Bless you all. And keep safe on the roads over the holidays
